Solid Timber, American Heart Maple
American Heart Maple, also known as Sugar Maple, is a durable and highly sought-after timber, known for its strength, stability, and attractive grain. The heartwood is typically a light reddish-brown, sometimes with a hint of golden hues, while the sapwood appears creamy white. The grain is generally fine and straight, with a uniform texture that gives it a refined, clean look. Occasionally, you’ll find figures like bird’s-eye, curly, or quilted patterns, which are prized for their unique beauty.

This timber is incredibly versatile, making it suitable for both residential and commercial applications, such as flooring, cabinetry, and fine furniture. While it can be stained to enhance its rich color or to match specific interiors, many prefer its natural, light appearance, which adds brightness to any space.
Also known as Sugar Maple or Rock Maple, this timber is native to the hardwood forests of North America, especially in the northeastern United States and southeastern Canada. The species name saccharum refers to its high sugar content, which is used to make maple syrup.
American Heart Maple trees are tall, with an average height of 25-35 meters and a trunk diameter of up to 1 meter. They are known for their vibrant autumn foliage and iconic association with maple syrup production.
This maple species is prized for its exceptional hardness and durability, making it a popular choice for high-traffic areas, sports flooring, and other applications that require a hard-wearing material.
